Description

Wall storage that outlives the bathroom around it.

Most niches are tile boxes — frames glued together with silicone, hidden behind the tile and waiting to leak. Ours are not. Each STALIA niche is fabricated from a single sheet of 304 stainless steel, brushed in one direction, and TIG-welded at every inner corner. Designed for 16-inch on-center framing (the North American residential standard), it recesses flush into the wall like architecture rather than hardware.

Why brushed 304 stainless

Will not rust. 18% chromium forms a self-repairing passive oxide layer. Tested to ASTM B117 salt-spray for 720 hours — equivalent to 40 years of typical bathroom humidity. Every batch passes; zero failures recorded.
Will not yellow. Acrylic and powder-coated metal yellow under shower light over 5–7 years. Stainless does not. The same color in 2055 as in 2026.
Welded, not glued. No interior grout lines, no silicone seams to fail. The geometry is the assembly.

MATERIAL

304 Marine-Grade Brushed Stainless

We use the same 304 stainless used on commercial yacht hardware — a chromium-nickel alloy that resists chloride pitting from soap, salt and shower water. The brushed finish hides watermarks and scratches that polished finishes can't.

CRAFT

TIG-welded from a single sheet

No glue, no rivets, no fold-and-snap corners that crack over time. Each niche is laser-cut from one piece of 1.0mm 304 sheet, then TIG-welded inside-out by a craftsman in our Wenzhou workshop. Seams are ground and re-brushed until they're invisible.
